The Bay Area Writing Project (BAWP), housed in the Graduate School of Education, is a collaborative program between University of California, Berkeley and Bay Area schools.
Firmly rooted in the belief that successful classroom teachers are the best teachers of teachers, BAWP offers workshops for teachers, taught by teachers, throughout the school year and every summer, serving hundreds of teachers and their studentseachyear.
Our programs are created by local BAWP Teachers so they are responsive to the needs of teachers and students in our local context.

Plunge into your own writing, grab some new classroom strategies and explore fresh ideas! This program is a series of courses offered to teachers during the summer. These courses often focus on specific issues related to the teaching of writing and vary in length.
The Forum is a conference put on by the Bay Area Writing Project and takes place in UC Berkeley's Graduate School of Education. This program is designed by BAWP Teachers to meet the needs of local teachers and the workshops are led by teacher-consultants.
